Becky Pittman lives in the Upstate region of South Carolina. She is a Social Media Communications Coach and Business Services Consultant with clients in defense, IT, green, and nonprofit social services sectors. She is also a writer, nonprofit arts leader/advocate, and Army vet.
Her Fortune 500 experience includes purchasing, forecasting, controlling and contracts management in information technology environments. Becky’s outsourcing positions required client-facing engagement and interaction with multiple departments within the outsourcing entity while working under strict deadlines. She has been accountable for budgetary, contractual and procurement portions of the project life-cycle and coordinated multiple projects simultaneously. She has extensive experience with crisis aversion and client/vendor management, strategic & event planning, budget management, task/program assignments, and liaison skills between different stakeholders. She has served in numerous leadership roles for both private for-profit and regional non-profit organizations.
In June 2010 Becky successfully launched and managed a statewide grassroots arts advocacy campaign on Facebook (“Save the SC Arts Commission: 2020 Focus”), Twitter and e-mail to preserve $1.4M of funding that had been vetoed by the governor. She provided tactics and motivation to South Carolina constituents that enabled them to contact legislators directly. She also served as the primary community manager for two other social media group leaders. Becky conducted media interviews that appeared in print and electronic formats and continues to be a national social communications trend setter.
